Valebridge Media Services (VMS), a media agency based in Crewe (UK) and Madrid (Spain), unveils a captivating new design for the trophies delivered as part of the Recircle Awards 2022, the prize event dedicated to innovation, production processes, management and sustainable services within the tire retreading and recycling sector.
Designed and built by the Spanish company Neusus Upcycling, a specialist in design and upcycling, the new awards were made from rubber powder derived from discarded tires, in line with the sustainability objectives promoted by the Recircle Awards concept.
The new elegant design retains the pentagonal shape of the original trophy, symbol of the five cornerstones of the pyramid of waste - prevention, reuse, recycling, recovery and disposal -, but also the silver-colored plate with a strong visual impact, characterized by the characteristic turquoise of the logo of the Recircle Awards. The central body of the prize consists of a twisted column made of powder, placed on a base made of recycled copper, to ensure a perfect balance.
David Wilson, VMS Managing Director, explained the concept behind the new design: “Although we loved the design of the awards presented during the first edition of the Recircle Awards, we thought they should be produced with more sustainable materials: therefore, we started looking for a recycling expert able to design and manufacture the new trophies made of rubber powder.”
“Neusus Upcycling was the ideal partner for this project. Their range of rubber-derived molded items from ELTs - especially their chess sets - are well known, and we were very happy to have their support to help us create a new award design that was eye-catching. Our thanks go to Ivan Izquierdo and Nicolas Gonzalez for their precious contribution ”.
Iván Izquierdo Lopez, a director of Neusus Upcycling who oversaw the delivery and creation of the Recircle Awards trophies, added: “We are delighted to have partnered with the Recircle Awards to create their awards for the 2022 edition of the event. We are very happy to be able to promote the circular economy within the tire sector, it is also a great opportunity for Neusus Upcycling to show our shaped products made from ELTs.”
The new trophies will be the protagonists of the virtual ceremony on April 25, 2022, and will be delivered in person to the winners of the Awards that will be delivered during the ceremony to be held on May 24 following the Global Retreading Conference at The Tire Cologne in Germany, and on 26 May, following the Future of Retreading and Recycling Conference at Autopromotec in Bologna, Italy.
